Hi Kim;

So glad you enjoyed your visit to Newfoundland. I was born and bred in the east end of St. John's and after being down here in Texas, I sure do miss the place sometimes.

I'm not sure if the question you had was rhetorical, because I'm sure you must have heard a few people say toutons, but the way I was brought up pronouncing it was somewhat like Tau - tuns...with sometimes the t in tuns silent and the first syllables like the greek letter..well how it's pronounced in modern english. Well, you know we talk fast, so dropping consonants is a normal thing to get the syllables out quicker.

Anyway, I enjoyed your article and it brought a little twing of homesickness. Jigg's Dinner is a special treat. I still order Mount Scio Savory for Turkey stuffing. I'm not sure if you experienced it, but newfoundland stuffing with savory is what keeps the families coming home.

Hi Anna,

I'm not sure why your antivirus put up an alert as many people do not have an alert that comes up. Does it say anything specific to the alert?

Oh no! I didn't check this before I left. We're in St. John's now. Unfortunately I didn't get to see many pictures of Tina when she was young. Tina still thinks she's young! ha!

Sooooo, how many lobster tails (frozen of course) were you planning on stuffing into your suitcase for the return trip home??? LOL, just kidding, but still envious. Hope you're having fun.
